Dysport ® - Botulinum Toxin Type A (BTx-A)
Dysport is a highly effective, safe, non-surgical procedure that can dramatically reduce the appearance of the toughest wrinkles. Injections of Dysport into facial muscles block the chemicals that signal muscle contraction and relaxes the overlying skin and soft tissue. Results are first seen in the three to seven days following your injections and can last up to three to four months. With regular reapplication the results will last longer, especially if treatments are done before the muscles are allowed to return to full strength.
Teosyal® - Dermal Fillers
Dermal fillers act like a support for the skin, propping it up from underneath, thereby providing volume and a more youthful appearance. Teosyal ® from Teoxane is the dermal filler that we prefer to use. Teosyal ® is 100% non-animal origin and has a re-absorbable hyaluronic acid base. Hyaluronic acid, which is found naturally in our bodies, plumps the skin by drawing in moisture from the surrounding environment. Teosyal ® is temporary in nature, with results that last around 12 months before being completely absorbed by the body.
Gummy Smile Correction
In the past 'gummy smiles' could only be corrected with extensive gum surgery and the placement of expensive crowns. Now by using Dysport® to relax the top lip, the process to correct Gummy Smile can be achieved quickly and simply with this less invasive and relatively pain free procedure.
TMJ/Bruxism Treatment
Unconscious teeth grinding or clenching is a very common condition known as bruxism and can lead to enamel wear on the teeth, flattening and/or chipping of the teeth, increased sensitivity and in severe cases may even cause tooth loss. As well as dental issues, bruxism can also cause headaches and migraines, earaches, facial pain and problems with the temporomandibular joint (TMJ). Dysport® is able to be used to alleviate bruxism by relaxing of the muscles in the jaw. While Dysport® is not a cure for bruxism it can effectively control the uncomfortable symptoms for up to three to four months at a time.
